Favorite Summer Song - #1

Finally, a minute to wrap up my most favorite summer song series.

This song has to be the all-time best summer song ever. Why, you ask? Well, it makes me feel like I'm on vacation every time I hear it. Or better put, it makes me WISH I were on vacation every time I hear it.

Specifically on an island somewhere with a lemonade on one side, a Stephanie Meyer book in my hand and a laptop near by only to be used for the purpose of blogging. No phone. No responsibilities. Just me, and the sun, my lemonade and my beloved Edward.

That's what it's all about, baby.

I first discovered this song on the Mr. Deeds Soundtrack. Thomas gave it to me as a gift the first year we were married, and I must say it was a surprise. While it's true I usually know every last thing I'm getting for Christmas, he picked this out all on his own. And I was quite excited about it; there's so many great songs on it.

So while we were thumbing through the songs we heard this little number. I can still remember Jake commenting on the song and how it made him wish we were back in Mexico. You see, a few years prior to that my Mom surprised us on Christmas morning with tickets to Cabo...one of the best Christmases EVER...by the way.

And being the talented bloke that Jake is, he whipped out his guitar and started strumming the tune to this song, "Island in the Sun." So of course, I think of Jake too sometimes, in between thinking about that private island and Edward Cullen.

But for now, here's a few snap shots of our summer fun so far. There's still two more months of Northwest sunshine, so...two more months of summer adventure. Hip, Hip!
