I Heart Flannel Sheets

Dr. Tom kept saying something about needing new sheets. I listened, but I didn't really "listen" if you know what I mean. Since we're trying to be more financially smart with our money I'm trying to minimize our "wants" and only spend for "needs."

So when he told me that our sheets were worn thin by his feet I thought, "Yeah...we can wait a while."

So you can imagine how surprised I was when only a few days later he lovingly reminded me once more with a little bit more urgency. That's when I checked them out and what I found was a huge HOLE that had been ripped open by his toes.

The hole was big enough that I decided that the need for sheets was upgraded from want to need, so we bought us some new sheets....some new flannel sheets.

And can I just say that I LOVE them. When I climbed into bed last night they were so soft and surprisingly warm and cozy. I've had flannel sheets before; how did I ever let them go?

So I can't say enough about my new flannel sheets. I highly recommend them if you're the kind of person who hates getting into bed with cold blankets and sheets during the winter months.

And speaking of sheets, we bought an extra set for our Aiden too. When I went to tuck him in tonight he was already snuggled up in his blue flannels. Here's how our conversation went:

Me: Aiden, are you still awake?

Aiden: Mommy!

Me: I just came to tuck you in.

Aiden: (reaching his hands up and wrapping them around my neck as I bent over to give him a kiss.) Mommy, I love you.

Me: I love you too. Now, let's go to sleep; you have a busy day tomorrow.

Aiden: Mommy, will you stay here with me in my bed?

Me: For a minute. Now close your eyes.

Aiden: Mom, I need to tell you 'somesing' special. You make good cake. (He helped me make zucchini cake yesterday.)

Me: Thanks, Aiden. I'm glad you like the cake. Let's close our eyes, okay?

Aiden: Mommy, I need to tell you 'somesing.' You stink. You need to have a shower.

Well, I didn't think I needed a shower, but I think it ruined our little cozy moment!

That is HILARIOUS. That little stinker Aidan- I thought he was going to tell you how much he loved his flannel sheets! You should have told him that maybe if you didn't need to wipe his poo, you wouldn't need a shower. ha ha!

Funny how kids say it like it is.. no sugar-coating! I LOVED the picture of you and Laurie...I had forgotten abou your bangs! Or how mom used to get out the ruler to measure how high they were...let's see I think they couldn't be over 2inches, is that right?!

Yeah for flannel sheets! They are the only thing keeping me warm over at my parent's house. Hyrum has fallen in love with them too. But since our place it too warm for them I won't be buying us any.
