So we were in Canada all last week for the Family Reunion and Stephen's Wedding. Here's a few numbers that pretty much sum up the trip.
$3.92: The cheapest price of gas per gallon
I was thinking, how pathetic that we were so OVERJOYED to find a gas price under $4.00. The cheapest gallon of gas was found in Sandpoint, Idaho. Cute little town with a lot of charm. And, also the hometown headquarters for Cold Water Creek, one of my favorite websites for skirts. Cool!
4: The number of times I said out loud, "Thank you, Minivan."
Why is it that minivan drivers are completely oblivious to everyone else on the road and happily but slowly pull right out in front of you, causing you to slam on your breaks? I swear, if I EVER have to drive a minivan I will not succumb to this type of behavior. I will not! I will not!
27: The number of times I had to sing "Donald's Duck" with Aiden in the car.
....Quack, Quack, Choo-Choo-Choo, She's my little quackaroo.... Yes, I think I have listened to the Thomas CD one too many times. Guess we'll have to replace it with Scripture Scouts for a while and give us a break.
32: The number of miles per hour I was driving over the speed limit when I got pulled over.
It's been 10 years since my last speeding ticket, I'll have you know. And, for the love of pete. It was in the MIDDLE of nowhere, on an Indian reservation for heaven's sakes. I didn't even realize I was driving through a town when I got the red.
67: The number of mosquito bites on my ankles, feet, arms and neck.
177: The amount of money I had to pay the Province of Alberta for my speeding ticket.
This pretty much sucked. That's all there is to say about that.
1,353: The number of miles we put on our car for this little journey.
And I must say, it would be one of the greatest road trips ever if there was a freeway the whole way. But once we're into northern Idaho it's a two-lane highway all through the mountains. Aside from getting stuck behind minivans and campers, this is one very beautiful stretch of highway.
Infinity: The amount of FUN we enjoyed with the family.
As we started driving away to come back home we looked at each other and said, "What a great family to belong to." I had to put infinity because, how can you put a limit on the love and memories shared with such great people. Aiden absolutely loved being with his cousins. He kicked and screamed when it was time to go. I thought that was a good sign of a great family reunion. We're already counting the days down to our next trip to the north, but next time....we're taking a radar detector with us.

Hehehe... this made me laugh. Sorry about your ticket... be greatful though. Todd just got $942 in tickets last week. Long story, look for it on my blog, I might steal this idea.
Sorry to hear about the ticket! I got one towards the beginning of the summer driving across the Magnolia bridge on the way to Mom's group of all places. Why was I in such a hurry to go let my kids play at the church, who knows, it wasn't like we have to be there on time or anything. I guess the sunny weather just got me excited and my foot got out of control. Beware of cops on that bridge, they like to hang out by the little fishery business. I guess they complain a lot about speeders there and so now I'm always very cautious. Luckily it will be taken off my record if I'm a good girl for the rest of the year.
