A Little Escape

We recently took a trip to Victoria, British Columbia to get away after a busy semester with school and hectic work schedule. It felt sooo good to just unplug from email, cell phones, writing papers, and focus on being together as a family.

We spent a few days in downtown Victoria, close to the waterfront and then two days up in the mountains near a golf resort. Here's a quick break down of how our trip went.

Good: Victoria is a beautiful city! The architecture of the buildings is incredible and the shopping is fantastic.

Bad: Don't ever go anywhere on vacation during spring break. We were at the hotel with about a million other families with kids the first two nights. The pool was NEVER lacking for excitement.

Good: LOVED the Bear Mountain Resort, especially the pool and hot tub area. We would go there over and over again and bring golf clubs and money for a massage the next time we go!

Bad: Beware of Chinese reatuarants that look "run down." Their food probably isn't that great. (So we were in Chinatown and thought every restaurant would have to be good. We obviously didn't pick the right one.)

Good: Beautiful scenery from one door step to the next. We're so blessed to live in such a beautiful place with so many wonderful creations for us to enjoy and explore.

Good: Just being together; Mommy, Daddy and Aiden. Aiden loved taking the elevators, going swimming several times a day and hanging out at our "new home." (the hotel rooms)

Here's some pictures from our trip. Enjoy!
